170 students audition for Snow White and Nutcracker

American Midwest Ballet held auditions for 170 young people July 26 and 27. Dance students throughout the region had the the opportunity to audition for two upcoming professional ballet productions, Snow White at the Rose Theater on Sep. 28 & 29, and The Nutcracker at two locations, Nov. 23 at the Arts Center at IWCC, and Dec. 7 & 8 at Orpheum Theater.
“The audition process can be a wonderful life lesson,” said artistic director Erika Overturff, “especially when approached with the proper expectations and parental support.”
“Although not all students may be cast,” she continued, “we love seeing all of their beautiful faces and truly love watching them dance. We have many talented and enthusiastic students in our community.”
