Production: Going Solo
Ray Mercer has served as a master teacher at many colleges, universities, companies, and dance institutions around the world. He was an adjunct professor at Howard University where he taught choreography and composition, with a focus on contemporary modern and various other techniques. He has conducted many master series and residencies, focusing on technique classes, solo coaching, repertoire work, and movement coaching for non-dancers.
Mr. Mercer now serves as the artist in residence at Omaha Performing Arts, and the resident choreographer at Alvin Ailey school of dance. He heads several community outreach programs where he brings art and arts education to communities around the world. It has always been Mr. Mercer’s intention to educate artists to move with breath, motivation, and focus. It is his goal to inspire artists young and old by exposing the world to movement with a purpose.
