Dancers’ 10-year memories: Alexandra’s emotional connection

ALEXANDRA HOFFMAN: AN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION

Welcome to the latest in our new series of videos! To help celebrate our next decade of dance, we’ve asked American Midwest Ballet dancers to share some of their favorite memories from the company’s first ten seasons.

Onstage, Alexandra Hoffman is a versatile performer, dazzling audiences in a diverse range of roles: the regal Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, the sparkling fairy Fee in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the classically elegant Gift of Wisdom in The Wizard of Oz, to name only a few.

Away from ballet, she loves to cook and bake, and her Instagram feed is filled with photos of her latest delicious creations.

Alexandra took her artistry to a new level when she worked with guest choreographer Mariana Oliveira in her contemporary ballet Death and the Maiden.

“I loved learning the beautiful choreography and connecting so deeply to the character’s story,” says Alexandra. “I will never forget all of the emotions this piece left me feeling after every run-through or performance. It will forever be a defining moment of my career.”
